H.E. Abraham Belay (PhD), Minister of Irrigation and Lowlands received Mr. Donal Brown, IFAD Associate Vice President, along with senior delegates from IFAD, for discussions on ongoing projects and the successful completion of LLRP I. Mr. Brown emphasized the significance of this partnership as the largest in Africa and one of IFAD’s most effective collaborations. He expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian government for its transformative and recent Economic Reform Policy and expressed optimism about increasing resource allocations to support ongoing and future initiatives, including MILLs’ groundbreaking Climate-Resilient Irrigation for Sustainable Production (CRISP) and Small-Scale Irrigation projects. The honorable minister highlighted the recent fast-paced progress of our projects, emphasizing irrigation as a key entry point for driving agricultural transformation. Both parties noted the need to incentivize private sector investments in irrigation that align with these initiatives.
